Vanessa Barela 02/02/2007 Enve 302 Homework #1 1. 40 CFR Part 52 [EPA-R10-OAR-2006-1013; FRL-8275-8] In May of 2005, the Commissioner of Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC), asked for the EPA to revise the Alaska SIP to include a revised version of Alaska's Air Quality Regulation in 18 AAC 50. There are new test methods that ADEC wants to use other than the ones listed in 18 AAC. The EPA does not want to approve parts of the ADEC’s revisions because they are not consistent with the CAA. In 1997, they addressed the CAA that dealt with emissions from non-road engines. Since parts C and D title I of the CAA set forth air pollutants that were regulated under the CAA to include “major New Source Review,”, the programs can include air pollution control requirements. Under executive order reviews, it was found that it does not have Tribal implications and does not change the power or responsibilities stated within the CAA. After reviewing the SIP submissions, the EPA is to approve the submission provided that
