Sustainable Development Lesson 8, Part 3 There are two very distinct sides and positions around the topic of global warming. Some scientists strongly believe that global warming is occurring and some scientist’s strongly believe that the whole story is fabricated and not true. While these scientists are analyzing the same data and in similar ways, they continue to draw different conclusions and use separate pieces of that data to formulate their own position and arguments. While both sides contradict each other, they still do find some areas of agreement. Both agree that greenhouse gases are responsible for heating up the earth’s atmosphere but disagree with to what extent humans are responsible and what the most critical factor is. Some scientists say that the small water vapors are responsible for this affect and contribute as one of the more significant greenhouse gasses, not the commonly assumed gas CO2. It is proven and agreed on that the CO2 levels have increased primarily by human but disagree on its effects. Some claim that a raise in CO2 levels is
