BEE 299 Part 1 To start I would like to define an EIP concept and then propose an existing business that has potential for “industrial symbiosis.” An EIP, Eco-Industrial Park, is a concept where many different companies which all work in a similar area work together to become more sustainable. These companies work together to reduce pollution, waste, excess consumption to most importantly become more sustainable and eco-friendly but also to become more efficient and economically sound. I am from San Francisco, the third leader in fine dining restaurants in the country and found in a state that produces the majority of the countries agriculture. I propose that restaurants in San Francisco have great potential for industry symbiosis because of its mere numbers and consumed resources in that business. Citizens of San Francisco choose to eat out almost once a day, much higher of an average than most of the country so you can imagine how much food is being served.
