Case Name: Research in Motion (RIM) Course Number: TM583 Research In Motion (RIM) is a leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of innovative wireless solutions for the worldwide mobile communications market. It was founded in 1984. Based in Waterloo, Ontario, they have offices in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. Through the development of integrated hardware, software and services that support multiple wireless network standards, RIM provides platforms and solutions for seamless access to time-sensitive information including email, phone, text messaging (SMS and MMS), Internet and intranet-based applications. RIM technology also enables a broad array of third party developers and manufacturers to enhance their products and services with wireless connectivity to data. RIM is specialized making today market’s popular product Black Berry which is basically a big competition for Apple’s iPhone. RIM’s new Black Berry Curve 8300 has already got some awesome reviews because of its consumer oriented design approach. 1-
