Peter Schnelle A40321951 1-19-09 Page 30 Assignment 3 When I sit down and decide to dedicate an evening to either the completion of an assignment or the study or a particular topic, it is not because I am necessarily interested in the given topic, but because I know that in order to succeed in a modern educational system, I must dedicate my mind to topics that are both broad and unrelated to my talents and interests. This often does not lead to the best study habits, however I must often force myself to devote time and effort studying these topics that frequently are unrelated to any interest I may have. This makes the issue of motivation a big one in my life. I can spend hours upon hours researching audio/visual equipment, or how resistance levels on particular cables effect the ‘color’ of their sound without even thinking about motivation. It is when you tell me to write a paper on a topic that has no bearing on my life that motivation becomes a serious issue (i.e. How deforestation in the Amazonian region is effecting the
