The Purpose The bridge formed a high speed route for autos  by taking the A75 highway, and joining the A71  and A10 freeways, essentially becoming the key  to making a highway from southern Paris all the  way up to Spain.  Doing this drastically reduced the price (and  number) of vehicles on other highways, allowing  this bridge to function as a toll road.
