The cart, used to simulate a ball, is to hit the metal bumper with different masses, thus different kinetic energy values. This will, in turn, help to decide the efficiency of the bumpers at different kinetic energy values Background: The cart is placed on a level and frictionless plane. There were 3 videos taken and each initial velocity was attempted to have the same velocity, however mass was added to the cart. The first, second, and third attempt had masses of 281g , 221g , and 261g respectively. Body: Upon completing the lab, we were attained this data from the videos: Masses of the carts Velocity in cm/s 281g BEFORE impact 13.51 281g AFTER impact 9.59 221g BEFORE impact 21.01 221g AFTER impact 19.18 261g BEFORE impact 16.69 261g AFTER impact 12.85 We were able to calculate the kinetic energy by using the formula
