“Oral History Beginnings” By: Ethel S. White This is simply a small article by a woman who appears to take a lot of joy in oral histories. She was asked by former professors of hers to do an oral history on a federal judge and fell in love with them. She now works with the Kentucky Oral History Commission and does private work involving oral histories. I liked this review for a couple of reasons. I feel as if I can relate to Ms. White in the

Unformatted text preview: sense that oral histories are slightly addictive. I have really enjoyed this entire process and would not mind repeating it. I also like this because it shows how oral histories can become not only a hobby, but also a career. There are also entire societies that are dedicated to the preservation of oral histories. I did not know this before reading the excerpt....
