“Senator Fong and My Start in Oral History” By Michaelyn P. Chou This is the second of these types of articles that I have chosen to include. I chose them because it’s very interesting to me how people come about doing oral histories. This article in particular struck me because the author chose to do oral histories based on the fact that those being interviewed were so interesting and inspirational, that it could not be conveyed in any other way. The best way to understand the feelings provoked by the Gettysburg Address is not to read a book about President Lincoln, but to read the Address itself.
