(a) How many different subcommittees are possible?
(b) How many different subcommittees are possible if Andy and Merlene are
feuding and refuse to serve together? (c) How many different subcommittees
are possible if allmale and allfemale subcommittees are not allowed?
2. There’s a peeping Tom in Beavis and Butthead’s neighborhood, and both
Beavis and Butthead are suspects.
They will shortly be appearing in a “line
up”, that is, a straight line consisting of five suspects.
