STAT 350 – Fall 2008 Homework #1 – Solution covers thru Lecture #3 I expect problems to be submitted in order, including graphs. You must use a software program to create the graphs for this assignment. You do not need to use Minitab, but Excel is not acceptable for these graphs. I recommend you past graphs into Word or another word processing program with appropriate labels and comments (however, you are not expected to type the entire homework assignment). Homework/labs must always be stapled if it is longer than one page. If it is not stapled, only the first page will be graded. The first page of each homework set handed in must contain the following information: (1) Your Name (2) STAT 350 and your section time (10:30/12:30/1:30) (3) The number of the homework or lab assignment ( e.g. , Homework #2, Lab #6) Answers with no supporting work will receive zero credit! 1. The transformed data is much more symmetric and nearly bell-shaped.
