Unformatted text preview: Circuit City In 2007 Circuit City had a massive layoff of 3,400 top paid employees. This massive layoff was done with the goal reducing internal costs by eliminating a large part of the upper management. This is very similar to what my company Heathways, eliminating a large part of upper management to cut down on internal costs. The main issue with this reduction is Circuit City lost many of their employees with the most skill and also did not bring in any new staffing practices or new strategies. As a result of this and many other failures at the upper management level, not only has Circuit Citys share fallen 28% in the last year, but also Circuit City is now facing Bankruptcy. Circuit City attempted to hire their fired employees back making less money than they were before that would in turn save them lots of money, but they failed to realize that the real issue...
