Several charitable organizations and programs are located in the Champaign- Urbana area and all have great causes, so when presented with the problem of choosing which is the right one to dedicate hours of service and fundraising to it can become difficult. After researching several options including a few located off campus it was decided that Crisis Nursery, an organization started in 1983, would be the best fit for our time and research should go to. Crisis Nursery is committed to the prevention of child abuse and neglect through the provision of emergency intervention, respite care and support to families in crisis. Careful thought has led us to believe the best ways of helping support this group is through long-term volunteer and fund raising opportunities through the use of University of Illinois registered student organizations as well as working directly with Crisis Nursery. Volunteer Illini Projects is a leader in charitable work on campus and they will be our go to group when it comes to organizing campus events and the Crisis Nursery will be there for us when we need advice on their needs as well as lists to contact people for donations....
