Piezoelectric Effect Barium Titanate has small domains (“Weiss Domains”) in which the dipoles line up. Also called Ferroelectric Domains . Cooling Barium Titanate below Tc in the presence of strong electric field causes the dipoles in all the domains to line up giving strong dipole moment per unit volume of material; called “polling”. When stress is applied, charge density at ends of sample changes;
