Anxiety 5. Anger Pain as Feedback System 0. Gets our attention (symptoms) 1. Provides motivation for change 2. Locus of control (internal vs. external) determines our  response 3. Engage and detach (per Morrie) Personal Control 5. Internal vs. External Locus of Control  6. Internal LOC is associated with direct coping strategies
