Concert Report 1 October 14 th was the second performance for the Santa Barbara Symphony’s 2007 to 2008 season. The Symphony was lead and conducted by Nir Kabaretti, who is beginning his second year heading the group. The symphony also had a guest piano performer named Shai Wosner for the second number. The concert was held in the Arlington Theater on State Street. Next season the symphony plans to move a few blocks down to the Granada Theater. For their opening performance of the season, the Santa Barbara Symphony played Four Sea Interludes by Britten, Piano Concerto No. 4 in G major by Beethoven, and Symphony No. 1 in C minor by Brahms. The last piece before intermission was the Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 in which the guest performer played. He came out on stage with the conductor to a great applause. The music would switch off between the symphony playing, and then the pianist playing. Further into the piece everyone would be playing at the same time.
