EXAMS There will be two exams each worth 200 points. The Midterm exam is February 10 in class; Midterm covers material through the lecture of Feb. 3; the FINAL EXAM IS Wednesday March 18, 8:00-11:00 AM. The final is cumulative. Total points possible for the two exams are 400. For each exam you will be required to bring a pink Scantron® answer sheet, a #2 pencil, and a scientific calculator. No iPods® or cell phones will be allowed. Backpacks must be placed at front of room during exam (better not to bring if possible). Your Grade YOUR GRADE is based on the following percentage of total number of EXAM points (400): A range 90-100% (#pts 360); B range 80-89% (359 #pts 320); C range 65-79% (319 #pts 260); D range 50-64% (259 #pts 200) F less than 50% (#pts< 200). The exams will not have a curve other than what is shown above.

Lecture 1, GS20Lecture 1: GS20 2 Your Grade No Curve – However: – If you score poorly on the mid-term, you may choose to count your final as double, since it is cumulative. – You will be given bonus points throughout the quarter that will be added to your total exam score at the end of the quarter. Bonus Points Discussion quizzes each week at your section; 2 points each for a total of 18 points and Two bonus assignments; Each worth 10 points for a total of 20 points They will be announced in class and posted during on GauchoSpace. These points are added directly to a student’s total exam points. The bonus points can easily make the difference of one letter grade, B goes to A, C goes to B. Students could earn a total of 38 possible bonus points. Homework & Discussion Several questions will be put on the GauchoSpace website by Thursday of each week; The quiz questions in discussion section each week will come directly from the homework assignment. Correct answers plus participation in section will count for 2 bonus points each week.
