  Last week or So o Media wars heating up o War now extends to the web in an interesting way: o Google ads have been placed on McCain's YouTube ads to get people to  register to vote o Change in Palin's role - more assertive and vocal - positioning for next time o Movement of McCain to close vote gap runs into advertising deficit o McCain Search for message: Heroic Fighter vs. the Quitters Country First deal Maker vs. Nonpartisan Pretender Leader vs. Celebrity Team of Maverics vs. Old-Style Washington John McCain vs. John McCain o The Fighter (Again) vs. The Tax and Spend Liberal o Success in this search will determine ticket's fate but question is wether too late o Media often re-enforce the echo chamber - losing candidate often flounders  searching for the magic message to reverse trend o Large environmental factors often outweigh candidates's efforts: Bush decline,  economy     Shift Our Intrest to the More Political Aspect of Media o Only way campaigns and candidates can communicate to voters o Political ads - print and electronic  o Polotical blogging gossip and analysis done globally o Impact of Debate Analysis
