Piroska Szvoboda Sister Cutler English 150 H Sec 7 2 nd February, 2009 Use the Resources YOU PAID for it!!! It is incredible how many different resources BYU offers at no extra charge and still there are numerous students who do not take advantage of this. TA’s sometimes have nothing to do during their office hours even though sometimes they are responsible for over a hundred students. There are writing centers with skilled students employed who also just sit around from time to time. BYU wants you to succeed so they make sure that there are resources are available for you to do so. Maybe sometimes people get the idea that if something is for free it is not as good. This is not true! The Church spends a fortune every year on BYU. Thousands of people get rejected from BYU Provo every year, yet you were one of the fewer people who got the yes. What made you decide to come here? Was it because you heard there were a lot of fun parties or because you wanted to get the best education you could possibly get. If you came here because of the parties I would strongly recommend you to change to another college where they have just as many parties to go to, plus school is a lot easier, which equals to more free time! Yay! If you came to BYU to grow in educational and spiritual experiences, you better get started by using the resources available, because the classroom is just one form of education. What resources do I mean?! First of all, from personal experience I have found that, teaching assistants are mostly friendly and are happy to help you whenever you have trouble understanding the material or if you are not sure if you do your homework right and so on.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
