Joel Avery [email protected] L-HW-4 3/27/07 14727 /F 12 Tenny Mickey No Bosses at W.L. Gore & Associates 1. I would describe the organizational structure as a simple team boundaryless structure. It follows an organic model as there is no work specialization, departmentalization, chain of command, formalization, or authority structure. This structure influences Gore’s strategy in a positive way as it is clearly profitable for his company. More ideas are able to come about through team communication and freedom. The absence of any real authority allows the employees to be creative without any criticism from upper management. This positively affects his workers as nobody thinks they are of higher status than anyone else. Ideas, sharing and feedback are all on equal levels creating a positive, profitable working environment. 2. Personalities can play a large role in this type of organic model. More aggressive, power seeking people might have a really hard time in this workplace. Anyone
