Unformatted text preview: ECE 240-01 LABORATORY #7 Butterworth Active Low-Pass Filter February 29, 2008 Professor Hanson Jonathan Gold Lab Partner : Conor O’Reilly 1. Abstract The main objective of this lab was to construct and study one stage of a four stage, 8-pole Butterworth active low-pass filter with a cutoff frequency of 10,000 Hz. The four groups we slit into each created an assigned stage, by implementing the Sallen-Key circuit with a different frequency response. At the end of the lab class, the four circuits are stringed together with voltage followers between them, completing the Butterworth filter. 2. Procedure and Data 1. For this laboratory, the stage that we were concerned with was Stage 1 of the filter. Figure 1 of the laboratory manual shows the Sallen-Key circuit we created, and the component values for each stage are in the table in Figure 2, below Figure 1.
