Courtney Howder, Kristin Lo, Johnson Mark, Michael Mark, Amy Raffa, Alvin So IOE 425 Prof. Anderson 26 November 2008 Suggested Process Improvements Operation 1 1. Place the suspension arm located in the raw material bin at waist level to eliminate the waste of motion due to bending down. This placement change would also provide safety benefits in protecting the operator’s back. 2. Move the slide rack and machines closer to the operator to eliminate any type of wasted movement such as walk time. The operator adds non-value added waste due to the locations of these things. 3. If possible (if standards and regulations permit), use a shorter slide rack to allow for more space and reduce transfer time between the first and second operation. A shorter slide rack should also be used between operation 2 and 3 as well. Operation 2 1. Install a new grease gun that is located on top of the press. This way the waste in reaching for the grease gun can be greatly reduced.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
