Andrew Winn Values Paper FTS 100-128 Steven Griffith October 26, 2005 One commonality that is shared by everyone is our set of personal values. They are instilled in us by our surroundings, culture, family members, friends, and other influences. We each have out own unique set of values, but they could be very similar to the values of those who have had similar experiences and influences. We also may share a surprising amount of values with those who have had much different experiences. Values such as emphasis on hard work, family, and providing for others may be shared by people with widely-varying backgrounds. Some of the things I value are knowledge and education, getting the most out of what one is doing including work, creativity, self-expression, and family. I believe in the importance of education and the knowledge that can be gained from it, all the way up to the college level. Those with an opportunity to receive a formal education should pursue it to the fullest extent they can. I got off to a good educational start with support from my
