INTB 3351 History of Globalization Video Study Guide The Corporation , Parts 1-4 These video clips are from the documentary, "The Corporation" (2004), which charts the historic rise of the corporation as a pervasive force in our lives. 1. The first chapter asks interviewees to search for metaphors to describe what a corporation is and does. Which metaphor do you find most apt? The football team work together as a unit to achieve a goal. Bad Apples, the whale, Dr. Frankestein, Godzilla 2. The second chapter analyzes the "birth" of the corporation as something recognized and protected by U.S. law. How and why did the nature of the corporate form, and its stated legal purpose, change over time? Form from industrial age. Cooperation was form by governments to do a particular task.
