Granular Cells- Act as mechanoreceptors that sense the BP in the afferent arteriole. 2. Macula Densa- Act as chemoreceptors that respond to changes in the NaCl content of the filtrate. 3. Extraglomerular Mesangial Cells- Their function is unclear, but they may mediate signaling between the Macula Densa and the afferent arteriole. 2.
