Wiley This courses focuses on how modern business firms compete in the global marketplace by adding value with management. The over-arching paradigm of the course is an examination of the value-chain and how firms use people, organizations, operations, and information systems to compete and succeed in world markets. Integrated into the course are contemporary business issues such as total quality management, process reengineering, managing cultural diversity, teams and team building, employee motivation and empowerment, horizontal organization strategies, equal opportunity, creative compensation strategies, leadership, and bargaining. Course Objective: At the conclusion of this course, you should have a clear understanding of importance and value of relationship building (networking) in the world of management. In addition, you should develop or enhance critical thinking skills. Also, through classroom interactive exercises, you will learn the value of working in a team environment.
