20/02/2008 15:37:00 Verbi Riflessivi The action is going toward the person who is doing it.  o You know a verb is reflexive in Italian because it finishes with –si  instead of –are (arsi) , -ire (-irsi), -ere (-ersi). o Lavarsi (reflective)- to conjugate as a normal –are verb (lavare) Must add I pronomi riflessivi. Io mi  lavo. Io lavo il mio cane.  Tu ti   lavi. Lei si  lava Noi ci  laviamo Voi vi  lavate Loro si  lavano o Every verb that takes an object after can be reflexive (I wash my dog- I  wash myself.) (Dormire- is an exception. You cannot sleep yourself.  Correre is another. So is andare). If you can make the sentence  passive you can have a reflexive* o Divertirsi- to have fun (reflexive) o Divirtire- to have fun (not reflexive). o Io mi diverto o Tu ti diverti o Lui si diverte
