Psychopathology PSYC 3313 Fall 2007 Chapter: 6 Description of the problem: Social History: Paula grew up in a rural community and had one brother and strict parents. Her father ignored her growing up, but at the age of fifteen he began sexually abusing her. This abuse transitioned from attraction to violent assault. He raped her through the age of twenty. During this relationship with her father, Paula became attracted to older men, and also fell in love with a thirty-one year old man named Cal. Cal promised to marry her, but then married another women instead. At this point Paula had already dropped out of college. Then she married another man, had two children, and they were divorced shortly after. Now, Paula is 38 and she has a distant relationship with both of her children and her father ignores her. In addition, she appears to suffering from alcohol abuse; however, she denies drinking. Treatment and Outcome:
