Psych Review Test 3 05/12/2007 15:15:00 Case studies: Specify on axis one diagnosis: Class of substance o E.g alcohol withdrawal, dependence (diagnose dependence over  abuse), abuse o E.g other substances: just class Axis 3: if someone is experiencing physical symptoms that are already a part  of an axis one diagnosis. o E.g for axis 3: general medical condition is cardiac probs resulting from  amphetamines (beyond what is required of DSM) Axis 4:  ADHD: 2 types of symptoms (specify these on axis one) Inattentive: how kids are processing or not processing info on a cognitive  level, not as observable Behavior: e.g. restlessness, observable symptoms Combined: meets criteria for both Mistake: Bipolar is often mistaken for ADHD in children (bad because stimulates  can increase chances of a manic episode) 3 Types of learning disorders:
