SOM 210 – Exam 2 Book Notes Chapter 6: System Development - SDLC is also referred to as “waterfall methodology” - Critical Success Factor (CSF) is a factor critical to your organizations success – It allows you organization to strategically decide which systems to build - Fundamentals of RAD Prototyping o Perform the planning and analysis phases in a similar manner as if you were using the traditional systems development life cycle o Review the software library to determine if the components already exist that can be used as part of the new system o Create prototypes that look and act like aspects of the desired system. Design, develop and test the prototypes until they become fully functional software components. o Integrate the software components from the previous 2 steps and test them as a complete system o Provide ongoing support and maintenance - Agile Methodology o Similar to XP but with less focus on team coding and more on limiting project scope o Sets a minimum number of requirements and turns them into deliverable product
