Spencer Inions John Herold English 101 November 10, 2008 Throughout the history or philosophy, many people have tried to come to understand the theories behind creative thought tendencies . There are many well founded theories out there, and most of them differ completely from the others . Upon studying many different theories, ranging from Vygotsky’s theory on creativity as it pertains to education, to Robert Sternberg’s theory on creativity relating to the intelligence construct, the most supported and justifiable theory that I can understand would be Ellis Paul Torrance, Professor Emeritus from the University of Georgia’s theory that intelligence and creativity have no positive or negative effect on each other, and that they are both entirely independent of one another . His theory has since been supported with experimentation from the University of Murcia in Spain . The two heads of the experiments there were Ferrando Pietro and Ferrandiz Sanchez, both doctors from the Department of Developmental and Educational Psychology and Research Methods and Diagnosis in Education . The tested the theory and found it to be a well supported idea that should be a viable theory for study . I myself have also done a survey/study to further understand the thoughts behind
