Spencer Inions Design 100 Marvin Malecha November 18, 2008 One is only capable of mastering a task if he or she has studied the task to an extent and then performed it enough times to where they have an in- depth knowledge of what goes into making the task work. For my observations I chose to follow my resident advisor Lemontrel Jones around and watch as he controlled the dorm hallway. I observed him doing a variety of small tasks, including reporting to the resident director, helping students with homework, and making sure that the students did not have illegal items in their rooms (i.e. alcohol, contraband appliances, and extension cords) When watching him inspect rooms, I noticed that while the attendants of the rooms were not too pleased, it is a mandatory process that must be carried out to insure the safety of the other students in the dorm. First Lemon (as he is known to his friends and fellow dorm mates) gets a fire marshal to perform the room checks. He then goes door to door asking for permission to look through
