Spencer Inions Design History Antonio Gaudi He attended the “Escola Tecnica Superior d’Arquitectura” (also known as the “New School of Architecture”) where after five years he attained his degree and was given the title of Architect. Large influence was the Earth, mainly from his parents families both being coppersmiths He was also very influenced by the Gothic period of architecture, a very popular form in medieval Spain. The main architect that he was predisposed to was Eugene Viollet-le-duc, who was a big promoter of more contemporary Gothic Architecture. Gaudi’s work was very well liked but the Artist himself was shunned publicly He was originally criticized for his very original artwork but he would soon be commended for being one of the most original architects in history. Park Guell Mainly influenced by the Garden City Movement in England Was originally planned as a residential development, but failed miserably.
