Diana Andino Grade Level: 6 th Mentor Teacher: Martha Adams from Sartartia Middle School Date Lesson Taught: February 26 th , 2009 Our lesson about physical and chemical changes went really good for most part. The students did have previous knowledge about physical and chemical properties as well as what the difference between a physical and chemical change. We started by engaging the student by burning a paper which did get their attention. Before we burned the paper, we asked them if they knew how we can change the paper and they did responded by burning it because it is a chemical change. Therefore we confirm that they did have an idea of what they were going to explore next. When we did the experiment, we walk around each group at each station and asked them questions like what do you observe? What type of change do you think it is? This helped us know if they understood what is going on at each station to identify more examples of both chemical and physical change. All the students worked very
