Muromachi period o Sucky; lots of wars o Onin war affected a bunch of people, most specifically Courtiers Imperial family Zen priesthood of Gozan temples of Kyoto  o Bunch of new daimyos fighting to unify Japan Oda Nobunaga  Led armies to Kyoto Got rid of the Muromachi shogunate Slowly expanded his power outward from Kyoto Assassinated by general Avenged by general Hideyoshi Toyotomi Hideyoshi Took over expanding power; eventually controlled all of Japan Failed to invade Korea, twice Died, leaving an infant son.  Two main daimyo factions battled for  power, with Tokugawa Ieyasu winning. Tokugawa Ieyasu Established the Tokugawa shogunate o Europeans come to Japan Portuguese  Christian missionaries
