Go through the lecture notes with the book open You don’t need to memorize the time scale but you need to know so try to  commit it to memory Do we need to know specific dates? The age of the earth (4.5 billion) Formation of the Earth Multi-cellular life  Etc A lot of the test is going to be over plate tectonics C to C Granitic, batholiths, basalt C to O Andesite, volcanoes O to O  Very rare to get ingneous rocks In order to get an earthquake you have to get a break in the crust or rocks Where is the crust hard? Cold? Wadati-Benioff Zone – deep to shallow focus earthquake On a strike-slip boundary Is mostly shallow
