Naming A name is a linguistic device that identifies something or someone. It’s also a special component in your sense of self. Naming is one way we represent ourselves to others and a way we gain information about other people. It gives you a perception of the person and can identify gender, ethnicity, and culture. Naming practices differ based on country and religion. Our names can sometimes tell our own story.
