ISIS ATTEMPTSTORECRUITAMERICANSANDTHETACTICSUSEDThe ISIS radical terrorist group has been on a major offensive to spread its terror activities abroad and especially in the United States of America. This follows the success that the group has had in recruiting fighters and successfully staging attacks in Europe. Armed with its pernicious religious ideology and now aided by the failures of the Arab spring, the group seems to be gaining ground.Over the past year and a half, ISIS have been resolute in their determination to wage attacks abroad especially in Europe and Northern America. This is manifest from their intensified jihadist propagandizing and movement of people aimed at deepening the group’s external activities. The self-styled caliphate group runs a thriving social media campaign that boasts a worldwide reach. The ubiquitous nature of the internet and social media has enabled the terrorist network to hold sway over more territory making it a transnational network. This has, in turn, led to a recruitment of a huge number of jihadist soldiers to carry out its activities. This has enabled ISIS to inspire what has come to be known as “lone-wolf” attacks making the group both transnational and local in its reach. This problem is aggravated further in that these attackers are US citizens and therefore not easily detectable[Kop16].
