Anecdote Review Writing the anecdote was a new experience that helped me pay attention to detail in a real life event. When I read the instructions I took the instruction, “one side of page”, as in the anecdote should only be one page in length. The example anecdotes were short so I based my piece off of their length as well. I had to take a lot out of my story in thinking this and I would have had multiple paragraphs if not for the misunderstanding. I also could have split it up into two paragraphs but I was trying to get it all to fit on one page. The first paragraph could have been the rising action and the second paragraph could be falling action. Throughout the anecdote I should have paid more attention to the tense I was writing in. In some portions I spoke in past tense and in others I tell the story in present tense. There were also many places that I missed inserting a comma. It seems that every other sentence needed a comma and I neglected to add them in. I tend to write in very long sentences and need to work on ending this behavior.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
