First, find the mass of the metal sample and then put it into the boiling water. The metal should not touch the boiling water.

2. Let the metal sample remain in the water for a couple of minutes to make sure that the metal is at the same temperature as the boiling water. 3. Record the temperature. 4. Find the mass of the water in the calorimeter cup and find its temperature. 5. Transfer the metal sample from the boiling water to the calorimeter cup quickly to prevent heat loss. Then dry it carefully. 6. Observe the temperature change of the water. The temperature will increase to its maximum and then decrease to room temperature. 7. The final temperature is the maximum it reaches before beginning to fall. 8. Find the value of each side of m water C water
