Lab #3 Projectile Motion
Purpose:
To prove that the equations are correct and to determine the range of a
projectile. The answer should equal 0 when plugging values into the equation:

A projectile
•
Ruler
•
PASCO ME6800 Projectile Launcher
•
Carbon Paper
•
Timer Gate
Procedure:
1.
Determine the initial velocity produced by the projectile launcher. Use the
timer gate and set it up to “Two Gates”. Do a couple practice rounds to see
where the projectile lands on the Carbon paper.
2.
When putting the projectile into the launcher, make sure you hear two
clicks. Then release the projectile by pulling the string.

Determine the range of the projectile when launched at 20 degrees and 40
degrees. Do 2 trials of each of the angles.
4.
Record the time (seconds), height (cm), angle, d, and displacement (R).
