WRT 307 The Info-structions Project A set of “info-structions” is what I call a document that combines both basic information a user might need with specific instructions on how to complete a task. For example, the info-structions for how to use an insulin test strip might first include an explanation for why it is important for someone with diabetes to regularly test his or her insulin, followed by the specific instructions for how to conduct the test with the strip. Most workplace writers find that at some point they are writing to instruct, to demonstrate or to document, though writing effective instructions is not always a skill that gets much attention. Sometimes the instructions provide good background information but the “how to” isn’t very clear. Likewise, the specific steps may be clearly written, but the user isn’t sure about when to use the instructions or whether he or she has followed the instructions correctly. The Info-structions Project will provide an opportunity for you to think about and practice key workplace skills: Audience analysis Document structure and organization Precise word choice Document design – copy and graphic features The Info-structions assignment is worth 20% of your WRT 307 grade.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
