Adopted 8/13/04 ARTICLE I: NAME A. The organization shall be known as the “Bedford Citizens Corps Council,” and shall be organized as a non-profit corporation, hereinafter referred to as “BCCC.” ARTICLE II: OBJECTIVES AND FUNCTIONS A. The mission of the BCCC shall be to harness the power of the Citizens of Bedford, Texas through education, training, volunteer and support services to make our community safer, stronger and better prepared to respond to threats of terrorism, crime, public health issues and disasters of any kind. B. The objective of the BCCC shall be to unite in one body such citizen volunteer groups, community leadership and disaster organizations that are actively interested in, and desirous of, promoting the mission. C. BCCC shall at all times be nonpolitical and nonsectarian. D. The incorporation of BCCC, Inc. operating as a non-profit corporation requires filing the intention of BCCC to remit all of its assets, if and when it is dissolved, to the City of Bedford to be used for continuation of emergency services. ARTICLE III: MEMBERSHIP A. Membership in the BCCC shall be through the BCCC Board of Directors and affiliated member organizations. B. BCCC reserves the right to limit the number of members. C. Minimum membership qualifications for BCCC, its Board of Directors, and affiliated programs are: 1. Citizen or legal resident of the United States of America; 2. Reside or work in the City of Bedford (program’s leadership or City of Bedford Emergency Management Director may waive this provision); 3. Must successfully pass a background check at the discretion of the Police and Fire chiefs; 4. Must be at least 18 years of age;
