COMMUNICATION  2630 Linda Van Buskirk and  Frank Joseph Assignment  two. Collaborative.   Drafts due on January  30 for in-class review and  editing.  Final to be handed  in on February  2.  Study  a number  of complex web sites or other sources  (such as magazines or newspapers  or trade journals or government  publications) for a  corporation  your group  would  like to use as the sender of a number  of your communications. Imagine that your group  has been given the task of drafting a mission statement  for  your division  of the chosen organization.  For a smaller organization, imagine that you  are writing the mission statement  for the whole organization.   Write a mission statement  for your chosen division or organization, using no more than   200 words  of text and  as few as, say, 10.  Effective mission statements tend  to be concise. Readings in the handbook:   mission statements, collaborative writing, organizations and   related  links, outlining, paragraphs.   Please accompany  your assignment  with a group  memo  (see handbook  for memo   format) to me.  Use the model format and  headings given below.  The group  memo  informs  your instructor about your group’s analysis of the business you have chosen. The group  memo   usually requires three double-spaced  pages, but there is no word  limit. In the memo, specify the intended  use of the mission statement  and  indicate what you
