HIST 1111 Feb 13….GREECE Ancient Greece is a lot of islands having a huge coastline/ It is also quite mountanoes. . These are important because 1. It would make it a trade based civilization 2. Because of the terrain it would not be a unified civilization it would be based on cities and states . . greece would be fragmented.It would be hard to control since it has so many different cultures. Greece would conquer more land as it population grows since land is not fertile. . There are no big rivers also. The first big civ is Minoans who developed on the island of Crete. They are bronze age civ which places them around the same time period is shang dynasty We care cause It’s a trade based economy and There trade is based of fortified cities. They were not spread out. The Minoans r conquered by the Mycenaens We care because They are trade based The Mycenaens are conquered by God knows who maybe Sea People… About 400 years Greece is gripped into dark ages…mycenaens like minaons had a centralized authority when they go away there is no on to create a unified region.
