Course 2 Takeaways
● You learned a lot of info about diseases today! Focus on the medications/treatment
for these and what complaints someone with this disease might come in with.
● Really study major body systems: Cardio, Neuro, Respiratory, Abd Pain
● Life Risk diseases are most important, know which symptoms/diseases can lead to
sudden death for each system of Cardio, Respiratory, Abdominal, and Neuro
● Practice running through chief complaints or exam findings we might see or want
to know about these patients.
● For example, a patient with chest pain, shortness of breath, leg pain, and recently
traveled might tell a provider to look for a blood clot that has caused a pulmonary
embolism

Course 3 Preview - Subjective Documentation
● Review sx, medical terms, and complaints of diseases, we’ll be learning about the
History of Present Illness (HPI) and what a story might contain
● HPI tells us what the Chief Complaint is and elements about it like timing/location
● You will have 2 full hours of practice charting!
● Make sure to have a laptop/computer and reliable internet and audio.
