1) Your explainability scenarioJohn graduated a few months back with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, and has beenlooking for a job ever since, to no avail. Throughout college, he was in a variety of clubs thathad a focus in different sectors, and was involved in many extra-curricular activities. All jobopenings he found online require some previous experience or are just not related to the field heis interested in. It has been difficult finding open positions where he would be able to do what hewants, and very time consuming to alter his CV to only include the experiences relevant to thejob listing. John comes across the SmartAssist application, and downloads it, hoping it will helphim find his dream job in application development.Once John opens the app, he is faced with an introductory interface that explains to John what itdoes and how AI will help him find a job. First, John needs to create an account where he entershis personal information such as contact details. Then, he uploads his CV and resume, adds hisexperience in addition to his interests, and finally the type of job he is interested in. This helpsthe app find a suitable position for him that not only matches his degree, knowledge andexperience, but also his interests even if that doesn’t align with his degree and experience. Theapplication requests his consent to apply for jobs for him.Once the account is created, a quick tutorial of the interface is given to him, explaining thedifferent parts of the app; there’s a “following” section, where john can find people he knows toconnect with and follow; it’s explained to john that this doesn’t affect the job matching process. There’s also an “interest” section, where John can follow pages and well known people in hisfields of interest; it’s explained to John in the walkthrough that the pages and entities who hefollows there will be taken into account in the matching process; they are used by the system tobetter understand the types of people he would like to work with, positions he would like tohave, or companies he would like to work for. After setting up his profile and adding someinterests, the application gets to work.An hour later, John checks his phone to see notifications from the app, it notifies him of the jobvacancies where an application was submitted on his behalf. In the walkthrough, John wasinformed he has 24 hours to retract any of the applications before they are officially submittedand the employers receive them. In the “applications” section each application with the CV andcover letter edited specifically for that position are showing, with an explanation of why the AIthought this would be a fit. For each application created, John is able to review the CV, resume, and application information created by the app. He is able to edit these before they are sent outor save them if he would like. If there are positions John is not interested in that applicationswere created for, he can delete them and explain what he didn’t like about them so that the app
