Ethics and Killing: Abortion II 26/02/2007 10:17:00 **Viability argument:  If technology moves the point of viability, it seems odd that  this would affect the moral stance of a fetus. **Article from Judith Thompson Recalling Singer’s argument: P1: It is wrong to kill an innocent human being. P2: A human fetus is an innocent human being.   C: Therefore, it is wrong to kill a human fetus.  P1’: It is wrong to kill an innocent person. P2’: A human fetus is an innocent person.   C: Therefore, it is wrong to kill a human fetus.  A (normal adult) person has a right to life.  Why? People  believe  that they exist in time, and they have  interests  in living in the  future. To violate these interests is to undermine what people value in deep ways. Thomson’s Argument
