Canada is a constitutional monarchy . “The Crown” lies at the centre the formal, legal source of sovereignty in Canada lies with the Crown, not the people the US is republic, self governing, it does not have a crown the powers of the crown are the central organizing principles of our government in Canada the source of sovereignty lies in the crown, not in the people in Canada, this makes our structure of our government profoundly different from that of other states 2.
