Notebook Policy Your textbook provides good general information on keeping a notebook. Please be sure to read pages 9-24 in your textbook for very important background information about keeping a laboratory notebook. However, please be sure that you follow the specific guidelines for this course as outlined below. Your notebook should be a permanent record of what happened in lab, not what you wanted to have happen or the procedure in the book or handout. It should be written in sufficient detail that you can figure out what went wrong in an experiment by looking in your notebook or that another person could replicate your results completely from your notebook. Here are the specific requirements for this course: -You must have your notebook in order to perform the experiment that day. -Your notebook MUST be a bound book. It can be a composition notebook, but it may not be a spiral notebook. -Please do not include your lecture notes in your lab notebook.
